If you’re just learning how to blog, or you recently decided to start a blog for your business, the question likely keeping you up at night is “HOW MANY BLOG POSTS DO I NEED PER WEEK?!”
You’re not alone – I get asked this question all.the.time. Hell, I even spent a long time asking myself this question. I know you’re not going to want to hear this, but the truth is, when it comes to blogging, quantity is just as important as quality. More is good. More is better. More is where the magic starts to happen.
But it’s a lot of work. Hey, nothing good comes easy, right?
Back when I started blogging, a simple 350-word blog post per week was sufficient to get your website to start ranking better on Google. One blog post per week was enough to share to help make you a subject matter expert in your industry. One blog post per week was enough.
Fast forward to today, where one blog post per week is like going to the gym once per week: better than nothing, but probably won’t help you reach your goals.
Companies that published 16+ blog posts per month got almost 3.5X more traffic than companies that published between 0 – 4 monthly posts.
That’s a lot of gosh darn content.
But fear not – I have a plan for you. I used to push myself to do as much as possible, all the time, when it came to marketing my own business. Four years ago when I started this business, I likely would have stayed up all night writing these 16 monthly blogs, driving myself crazy and making myself exhausted.
Burning yourself out before you even get a chance to work with a client is never a good option.
Instead, I want you to start where you feel comfortable. Set a weekly goal for yourself. Improve upon that goal next month. Get yourself into a groove. Feel confident in your abilities before you add more responsibility to your already explosive to-do list. I want you to just start.
Rome wasn’t built in a day, and Olympic gold medals aren’t won overnight.
Ya feel me?
